WHAT'S SPECIAL

The sweetness from the butternut squash combined with the mild saltiness of the bacon is definitely a party in your mouth.

At the time of developing this recipe, I had only had butternut squash once and I loved it. So, while making this recipe, I wasn’t sure that butternut squash with go well with pasta. The sweetness from the butternut squash combined with the saltiness from the bacon just balance this meal well.

Growing up, most of our meals has more than one kind of protein. That is, in a meal, we can have meat, fish, shrimp, periwinkle, etc. Almost never just meat or just fish or just shrimp. It has also been varieties in our meal and I have unconsciously continue to carry that tradition. I always feel it is boring to have just one kind of protein in a meal. The different flavour and texture makes me so happy.

This is another reason this meal have more than one protein element in it. The flavours of the bacon, shrimp and sausage just combines greatly together. You can use any combination of proteins you have as well; chicken, beef, etc, just cook and cut into small bite size.

Depending on how spicy you want it, you can add more or less habanero pepper. I always suggest removing the seed from the habanero in most of my recipes because most of the hotness/ spiciness is in the seed of the pepper.

I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I enjoyed making it.
