In a bowl add the custard powder and add in the room temperature water and mix until it is thoroughly combined.
Now slowly pour in the boiled water, very slowly while mixing the custard with a spoon or spatula. So, the gist is, mix and pour hot water simultaneously (at the same time), until the mixture thickens, then stop.
Mix it and make sure it is properly incorporated and there are no lumps.
Check the consistency, if it is too thick, add a little hot water at a time and mix until it is the consistency you want.
This can be sweetened with sugar, honey, fruits, with milk (powder, evaporated, etc).
It can be served alone or with an beans dish such as stewed beans, akara (beans fritters), moi-moi (beans pudding / cake), bread (with fried eggs),etc
